Setayish. Stories

Prior to her enrollment in HBT “Street to School” campaign, Setayish father had an advanced oral cancer and passed away. Her older brother worked in ice cream shop, and her two younger brothers were polishing shoes in the dangerous streets of Kabul; still, their income was inadequate and not enough to support everyone. With your help and donations, HBT’s amazing team came to their rescue and since last year, they have never returned to child labor. In the long run, sending them to school changes their lives and is a natural solution to poverty and their safety.

Sadia

Sadia

Absence and being away from education caused her to fall behind, and when tested for school enrollment, she scored only at the third-grade level. While not in school, she stayed home performing house chores with her mother. Sadia’s father is a servant, and both of her brothers used to work hard alongside their father. Luckily, with your donations, we could sponsor her alongside her brother’s education at Hera School in Paghman province.

11-year-old Hanzala; is the only hope of his family. Unfortunately, his father passed away due to advanced-stage cancer. After his father died, Hanzala was forced into child labor.

After we realized his critical situation, we felt obliged to support him. Therefore, while he was working on the dangerous streets of Kabul, he mainly was begging on the road and shining people’s shoes from time to time.

With your support, he is now able to continue his education. In addition, HBT also started supporting his family. Hanzala has been enrolled in the HBT street-to-school campaign since 2018. As a result, he is not working on the roads anymore, and he is going to school full time

Sana

Sana , stories

Sana is part of a family of four children in an unpredictable living situation. She lives with his four siblings in a miserable condition in the east of Kabul.
Her father died at a very young age. Shortly after, her mother remarried her uncle. However, this glimmer of hope suddenly vanished due to her stepfather marrying someone else, thus leaving Sana and her siblings without a breadwinner. Sana’s mother is a domestic worker who earns meager wages from cleaning, cooking, and washing in people’s homes. HBT identified Sana on the streets of Kabul begging for money. HBT then went to Sana’s house and inspected their fragile living condition. Similarly, we also spoke to the neighbors to corroborate their living conditions to gain an insightful understanding of their predicament.

Namatullah

Namatullah

HBT identified Namatullah in the streets of Kabul after noticing his sister begging for money. Our team asked him about his living condition and where they live. Then we examined their house and found severe living conditions. Similarly, we also spoke to their neighbors to know more about their living conditions.
HBT enrolled Namatullah in school and took a promise from his mother never to revert him to the unforgiving streets of Kabul. In addition, HBT is pledging to support Namatullah’s mother with a monthly supplemental income to take care of Namatullah and his siblings. He is a bright, enthusiastic, and engaging kid. You can contribute to his welfare and quest to attain a sound education with your support and kindness.

Haider shah

Haidar Shah

Haidar Shah was six months old when government opposition forces killed his father in the Paghman province suicide attack, depriving him of the love of his sweet father. They are four brothers and two sisters in the family.

This family survives only with the help of local people in their village. Haidar’s mother works on farms and ensures her children attend school. She loves and cares for all her orphan children. Little Haidar Shah aspires to become a talented doctor in the future to serve his family and his suffering country.

With the help of your support, HBT enrolled him in a private school, and he is currently in the third grade. Haidar Shah hopes you continue helping HBT to protect other children, such as the homeless and the poor. He feels every child deserves at least a chance at a bright future.

Sajjad

stories

Sajjad lost his father five years ago during an armed attack at the 400-bed hospital in Kabul. He has two younger brothers. The only supporter of his family is their mother, who cannot work. They live in a small and unlivable home which is intolerable to live in the cold weather. His martyred father’s retirement money is the only source of income to continue their difficult life. However, it is not enough for their living cost and education. Sajjad is in the eighth grade at the school, supported by HBT. He passionately wants to go to school and continue his education.

Please donate whatever you can to support Sajjad’s education.

Shakiba

Shekiba

Hi, my name is Shekiba. With your donations to HBT, I have been able to attend school for four years. I currently hold second place in my sixth-grade class in school. I dream of wearing a stethoscope someday. If Allah grants me the ability, I will be one of the future doctors in Afghanistan. Thank you for all of your love and support.
Shekiba was born into a poverty-stricken family. She has three brothers and two sisters. Her dad worked in the streets as a labor worker to provide for his family. Shekiba’s dad broke his leg on the job, which led to a permanent disability. As a result, Shekiba and his family lost their breadwinner. Fortunately, HBT (Help Build Tomorrow) got the family information through its volunteers, and, after a full assessment of the family, with your help and donations, we started our financial support for her education and other expenses. We support her family, so she does not have to end up working in the street. With the help of our donors and volunteers, Shekiba and her siblings were enrolled at Esar Private School. Shekiba wishes to have a bright future and wants you to help support HBT to help kids in Afghanistan.
